On Friday (05/16), Luciane Belin, a researcher at the Laboratory of Internet and Social Network Studies at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (NetLab UFRJ), participated in the 11th edition of COMPOLÍTICA, in Working Group 10 - Media, Gender and Race.
With the article “Lose weight, don't waste time!”: gender stereotypes and objectification of the female body in fraudulent digital advertising, Belin analyzed some of the 1,151 misleading and problematic ads about women or directed at them in the Meta Ad Library.
The event, held at the Catholic University of Pernambuco, from May 14 to 16, 2025, sought to expand discussions on the theme of Open Science, Digital Humanities and data monetization: democratic and epistemological challenges for research in Communication and Politics.
