NetLab UFRJ research on socioenvironmental
disinformation and climate denialism

The hosting of COP30 in Belém (PA) marked a historic moment for the global climate debate and reinforced Brazil’s leadership in discussions on the energy transition and the fight against socio-environmental disinformation.

NetLab UFRJ actively participated in the summit, further consolidating itself as a national and international reference in debates on the integrity of climate information.

Our studies have been used by public authorities, civil society organizations, and international bodies to strengthen public policies and advocacy strategies that promote more ethical, transparent, and evidence-based communication. They are also frequently published in leading academic journals in the field of communication, both in Brazil and abroad.

This page brings together NetLab UFRJ's research, reports, and analyses related to climate issues, addressing topics such as greenwashing, green disinformation, the energy transition, and the regulation of digital platforms.

These works demonstrate how the dispute over sustainability narratives has become central to today’s information landscape and reaffirm the laboratory’s commitment to producing public, critical, and interdisciplinary knowledge to confront the communicational challenges of the climate crisis.
