This Wednesday (06/05), the Director of the Internet and Social Network Studies Laboratory at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (NetLab UFRJ), Marie Santini, participated in the 7th edition of ACM FACCT, an annual interdisciplinary conference dedicated to academic discussions.
The main themes of this edition are algorithms and big data, seeking to stimulate debate on the subjects and bring up the issues in this emerging area. On the penultimate day of the conference, Santini's talk highlighted the lack of clarity on the part of the platforms and deregulation in the business model of big techs, presenting the NetLab UFRJ article “Seeing through opacity: The limitations of digital ad transparency in Brazil”.
Held in Rio de Janeiro, from June 3 to 6, 2024, the event also featured a programme of several multidisciplinary lectures from academics from across the globe.
