Messages in the first round of the 2022 Elections: Narrative, strategy and disinformation flow

In this report, NetLab UFRJ brings together the main results of monitoring multiplatform disinformation networks from messaging applications during the first round of the 2022 Brazilian elections.

By analyzing 115,300 messages circulated in public Whatsapp groups and 180,900 in public Telegram groups and channels, we identified how the sharing of external links, segmented narratives, and trends can contribute to understanding and mitigating the effects of disinformation in the second election round.
