NetLab UFRJ members at Compós 2024
Between June 23 and 26, the 33rd edition of the COMPÓS (National Association of Graduate Programs in Communication) Annual Meeting was held at the Institute of Art and Social Communication at UFF (Fluminense Federal University). The event brought together academics and experts from various parts of Brazil for multidisciplinary presentations.
NetLab UFRJ presented the study “Climate denial on YouTube: how arguments from false experts resonate in audience comments”, which discusses the large amount of misinformation on environmental issues circulating on the platform and highlights how this kind of denialist discourse reverberates through society.
During the three days of Compós 2024 programme, mini-courses, conferences and Working Group (WG) meetings were held, including the WG “Science Communication and Scientific Policies”, which the team from the Internet and Social Media Studies Laboratory of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro atended.
