The Internet and Social Network Studies Laboratory at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (NetLab UFRJ) will assist the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) in monitoring disinformation about electoral integrity on digital platforms. The partnership involves sharing knowledge about communication technologies and network advertising, and seeks to strengthen the institution for the 2022 Elections.
The dialogue between the parties took place within the scope of the TSE's Permanent Program to Combat Disinformation, which aims to combat in an uninterrupted manner disinformation related to the Electoral Court and its members, the electronic voting system and the electoral process in its different aspects. phases.
The permanent nature of the Program guarantees not only its own structure with exclusive dedication, but also the construction of knowledge and innovation management processes, the strengthening of network operations, as well as the creation and execution of medium and long-term strategies against disinformation.
Without funding or resource transfers of any nature between the TSE and NetLab UFRJ, the partnership envisages the development of specific studies for the organization, sharing of information and data related to the laboratory's previous studies, in addition to holding workshops and training techniques for its employees, mainly in monitoring sensitive ads on the Meta and Google platforms.
