The Minister of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), José Antonio Dias Toffoli, mentioned the study by NetLab UFRJ on the big techs that acted against Bill 2630/2020 during his vote in favor of holding digital platforms accountable. The session, held in Brasília this Wednesday (12/04), discussed the Internet Civil Rights Framework, created to establish the right to exercise citizenship in digital media, in addition to diversity and freedom of expression on the internet.
The Minister's vote states that social networks are now required to immediately remove illegal content, without the need for a court order, and if they maintain the posts, the platforms may be held accountable.
