On Tuesday (07/01), the director of the Laboratory of Internet and Social Network Studies at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (NetLab UFRJ), Marie Santini, participated in the program Desinformação & Política, on TV GGN, hosted by journalist and researcher Eliara Santana.
In the interview, Marie spoke about the recent internal changes at Meta, which resulted in the end of fact-checking on the platform. Santini highlighted how the new guidelines of the big tech company contribute to disinformation and the worsening of hate speech on the company's networks, which operates in Brazil.
